DHCP
Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) is a TCP/IP protocol that enables
PCs and workstations to get temporary or permanent IP Addresses (out of a pool)
from centrally administered servers.
DHCP is based on RFC 1531 and RFC 1533.

Lease Length

You can request an IP Address for an infinite period of time (Infinite Lease);
however, you must accept the time period that is determined by the server, even if
it is different from what you requested.
