2.2 Site Requirements and Prerequisites

Install AC-powered IPmux-1/1E units within 1.5m (5 feet) of an easily-accessible grounded AC outlet capable of furnishing the required supply voltage, in the range of 100 to 240 VAC.

DC-powered IPmux-1 units require a 48 VDC power source. The positive pole can be earthed.

The maximum permissible current capability of the branch distribution circuit that supplies power to the product is 16A.

Caution The DC power source must be isolated from the mains supply by double or reinforced insulation. A suitable fuse or a circuit breaker (16A) should be integrated in the negative power-supply line.

Allow at least 90 cm (36 inches) of frontal clearance for operator access. Allow at least 10 cm (4 inches) clearance at the rear of the unit for cable connections. Make sure that the ventilation holes are not blocked.

The ambient operating temperature of IPmux-1/1E is 0 to 50o C (32 to 122o F), at a relative humidity of up to 90%, non-condensing.

2.3 Package Contents

The IPmux-1/1E package contains the following items:

•IPmux-1/1E unit

•Power cord

•Kit containing hardware for mounting the unit in a 19-in rack (optionally supplied)

−RM-25 for IPmux-1

−RM-26 for IPmux-1E.

Power Cord

IPmux-1/1E comes equipped with a power cord for the AC interface. To connect IPmux-1/1E to a DC interface, see the DC Power Supply Connection Supplement.
