CAUTION: The maintenance port described in this book generates, uses, and can radiate radio-frequency energy through cables that are connected to it. This energy may interfere with radio and television reception. Disconnect all maintenance port cables when you are not communicating with the controller.

Follow these steps to establish a local connection for setting the controller’s initial configuration:

1.Turn off the PC or terminal and connect it to the controller as shown in Figure 2–6.

a.Plug the maintenance port cable into the maintenance port for a PC connection.
