Removing the System Board Assembly
CAUTION: Only trained service technicians are authorized to remove the system cover and access any of the components inside the system. See your Product Information Guide for complete information about safety precautions, working inside the computer, and protecting against electrostatic discharge.
1Turn off the system and attached peripherals, and disconnect the system from the electrical outlet. Open the system. See "Opening and Closing the System" on page 68.
2Remove the system board cooling shroud. See "Removing the System Board Shroud" on page 71.
3Remove the heat sink and processor. See "Replacing the Processor" on page 106.
4Remove the memory modules. See "Removing Memory Modules" on page 106.

Disconnect the SATA cables from the hard drives and the optical drives (if applicable) from the SATA_A, SATA_B, and SATA_C connectors.
9Disconnect the two fan module assemblies (1 and 2 , 3 and 4) from the fan FAN_MOD1 and FAN_MOD2 connectors on the system board.
10Remove all expansion cards installed on the riser card. See "Removing an Expansion Card" on page 96.
11Remove the riser cards. See "Removing the Riser Card" on page 98.
12Disconnect the two power cables from the 12V and PWR_CONN connectors on the system board. See Figure
