Installing an Internal SD Flash Card

WARNING: Only trained service technicians are authorized to remove the system cover and access any of the components inside the system. Before you begin this procedure, review the safety instructions that came with the system.

NOTE: To use an SD card with your system, ensure that the internal SD card port is enabled in the System Setup program. See "Using the System Setup Program and UEFI Boot Manager" on page 57.

1Turn off the system and attached peripherals, and disconnect the system from the electrical outlet and peripherals.

2Rotate the system feet inward and lay the system on a flat surface.

3Open the system. See "Opening the System" on page 85.

4Locate the SD card connector on the internal SD module and, with the label side facing up, insert the contact-pin end of the card into the slot. See Figure 3-18.

NOTE: The slot is keyed to ensure correct insertion of the card.

5Press the card into the card slot to lock it into place.

6Close the system. See "Closing the System" on page 86.

7Place the system upright and on its feet on a flat, stable surface.

8Rotate the system feet outward.

9Reattach any peripherals, then connect the system to the electrical outlet.

10Turn on the system and attached peripherals.
