POVAR

Provides information about individual elements.

 

ƒ

P (present) – Indicates whether the element is present

 

 

(1) or not (0).

 

ƒ

O (occupied) – Indicates whether the element contains a

 

 

cartridge (1) or not (0).

 

ƒ

V (valid) – Indicates whether the occupied information

 

 

for the element is considered valid (1) or questionable (0).

 

 

The occupied information is considered questionable just

 

 

after power up before the autoloader has completed its

 

 

initial cartridge inventory.

 

ƒ

A (accessible) – Indicates whether the element is

 

 

accessible (1) or not (0). In the case of a cartridge cell, this

 

 

value is always 1. In the case of the tape drive, 1 means

 

 

the tape drive is either empty or the cartridge is ejected

 

 

from the tape drive; 0 means a cartridge is loaded in the

 

 

tape drive.

 

ƒ R (reserved) – Indicates whether the element is reserved

 

 

by a host (1) or not (0).

 

 

Label Valid

Indicates whether the bar code label information for the

 

element is considered valid (1) or questionable (0). The bar

 

code label information is considered questionable if the

 

autoloader had a problem reading the label.

 

 

Label

If the element contains a cartridge, this field provides the

 

bar code label information for the cartridge.
