aThese measurements assume that the autoloader is installed in accordance with the instructions in this manual.

bThe autoloader is in its original packaging. The packaging is designed to protect the autoloader from condensation caused by extreme temperature variations (15° C or more). When the autoloader is moved from a cold storage environment to a warm operating environment, it must be acclimated in its packaging for at least 12 hours before opening to prevent serious condensation damage from occurring.

cThe autoloader has been unpacked.

dThe autoloader has not been unpacked. The transportation period does not exceed 72 hours.

eThe upper ambient operating temperature limit of +40° C (+104° F) is specified at +914.4 m (+3,000 feet), derated linearly to +24° C (+75.2° F) at +3,048 m (+10,000 feet).

fThe data cartridges’ temperature and humidity must be allowed to stabilize in the specified ambient environment for 24 hours.

PARTICULATE CONTAMINATION LIMITS

The ambient operating environment for the autoloader should not exceed the particulate counts specified for the tape drive. For more information, refer to the LTO Ultrium tape drive documentation available from the IBM web site at www.storage.ibm.com/tape/lto/oem/index.html.
