The service configuration plot contains the following:

DHard-clip border around the plot enabling you to measure the margins.

DUnique bar patterns enabling you to detect print-quality problems

DFour X-shaped marks (crosshairs) for measuring the accuracy of the media-axis calibration. (The centers of the crosshairs should be 500 mm apart.)

DContents of EEROM, dumped in hexadecimal format.

DExplanation of important EEROM parameters, including a mileage monitor and information on the last system error.

DDesignation of front-panel keys for service tests.

Use the service monitor to compare the code sent by the computer with that received by the plotter. Instead of plotting the drawing that you send, the plotter prints part of the code that would otherwise have been used to plot the drawing. This code is useful when you suspect that there is a problem with the communication between the computer and the plotter.

The servo/encoder test performs the following:

DMedia￿axis encoder test: Verifies the operation of the servo loop (Media-axis feedback).

DCarriage￿axis encoder test: Verifies the operation of the servo loop (Carriage-axis feedback).

DRecords the maximum pulse-width modulations used. You can view this information on the service configuration plot.
