To activate random playback:

1.When playback is activated, press the remote control RANDOM button.

If a DVD is loaded, one of the Random bars shown above will open at the top of the on-screen display. The Random bar indicates the selected random playback mode. Proceed to step 2.

If another disc format is loaded, random track playback will automatically activate, beginning with the currently playing track. The instructions end here.

If the Random bar does not open at the top of the on-screen display, random playback might not be available for the loaded disc. The table on page 4-12 indicates the random playback modes available for each disc format.

2.When the Random bar opens, press the RANDOM button again the cycle through all random playback modes available for the loaded disc.

3.When the desired random playback mode is selected, press the Play button or the remote control ENTER button to activate the selected random playback mode.

Select Random Off to deactivate random playback.

4.When random playback is in progress:

Press the remote control PREV button to return to the beginning of the currently playing title, chapter, group, or track.

Press the remote control NEXT button to skip to the beginning of the next randomly selected title, chapter, group, or track. For instance, when random chapter playback is activated, pressing the NEXT button skips to the beginning of the next randomly selected chapter.

To deactivate random playback:

Press the remote control CLEAR button to activate playback from the current playback time. The Random Off bar shown above (right) will open at the top of the on-screen display to indicate that random playback has been deactivated.

Press the Stop button to activate stop or resume mode. In some cases, the Stop button must be pressed twice in succession to activate stop mode. When stop mode is activated, playback cannot be reactivated at the current playback time.
