TV Screen (continued)

Select 16:9 (Wide) or 16:9 (Compressed) if the associated display device screen has a 16:9 aspect ratio. Select Standard 4:3 (Letter Box) or 4:3 (Pan&Scan) if the associated display device screen has a 4:3 aspect ratio. The appearance of the picture depends on the TV Screen parameter or TV Type prompt setting, the video output format, the loaded disc, and display device settings.

The TV Screen parameter is associated with the Setup Navigator TV Type prompt (3-5). The TV Type prompt Widescreen (16:9) setting is equivalent to the TV Screen parameter 16:9 (Wide)

setting, and the TV Type prompt Standard (4:3) setting is equivalent to the TV Screen parameter 4:3 (Letter Box) setting. The TV Screen parameter also offers settings for 16:9 (Compressed) and 4:3 (Pan&Scan) viewing. Refer to the table on pages 3-25 and below for more information.

Note:

Some discs do not allow video output format adjustments.

Neither the TV Screen parameter nor the TV Type prompt can be adjusted when the RT-10 is in playback mode.
