Video Output Issues (continued from page 5-3)

The picture on the associated display device screen includes video artifacts. (continued)

4.The RT-10 is not compatible with all high-definition display devices. In some cases, this connection might produce video artifacts in the picture.

5.The RT-10 includes copy-protection circuits that might prevent recording or produce video artifacts in the picture when the RT-10 is connected to a VCR or A/V selector.

RF interference is present in the video output.

1.Make sure the RT-10 is not positioned near unshielded TV or FM antennas, cable TV decoders, and other RF emitting devices that might cause interference. Replace unshielded cables with shielded cables whenever possible.

Still frame images shake.

1.Set the Still Picture parameter (3-35) to Field. When this parameter is set to Field, the RT-10 produces tight, stable, and generally shake-free still frame images.

An icon appears on the on-screen display.

1. The icon shown at the right appears on the on-screen display when the RT-10 does not allow the selected command.

2. The icon shown at the right appears on the on-screen display when the loaded disc does not allow the selected command.

3.The icon shown at the right appears on the on-screen

display when a Setup menu parameter that is exclusive to DVD formats is adjusted while another

disc format is loaded. These adjustments will take effect the next time a DVD is loaded.

4.When the Setup menu is open, the icon shown at the

right appears next to parameters for which Setup FM menu shortcuts (3-50) have been created.

5.When the MP3 Navigator (4-4 and 4-27) is open, the icon shown at the right appears next to MP3 tracks that have been added to the MP3 program list.

AUDIO OUTPUT ISSUESThe RT-10 is powered on, but there is no audio.

1.Deactivate the following playback modes (if applicable): stop mode, resume mode, pause mode, still frame playback, frame- by-frame playback, and slow playback. Audio automatically mutes when these playback modes are activated.

2.Examine the rear panel to ensure that the required audio output connection (2-12) has been made and that audio cables have been fully inserted.
