To select an "Other" language:

1.When the DVD Language screen opens, use one of the following methods to select the desired language:

a.Press the remote control  and  arrows to scroll through the complete list of available languages. When the desired language is highlighted, press the remote control ENTER button to select this language and return to the Language tab.

b.Press the remote control  arrow to move the cursor to the first character space that appears on the right of the on-screen display. Then, use the remote control number buttons to enter the numeric code for the desired language. Refer to the table that begins on page A-14 to determine the appropriate numeric code. When the desired language is selected, press the remote control ENTER button to return to the Language tab.

Note:

Some DVDs allow menu language to be selected from the disc menu. Refer to page 4-3 for more information.

Subtitle Display

On, Off, Assist Subtitle

Controls the appearance of subtitles on the on-screen display. Select On to display subtitles when playback mode is activated. Select Off to prevent subtitles from displaying when playback mode is activated. Select Assist Subtitle to display more extensive subtitles when playback mode is activated.

Note the following:

In most cases, subtitles do not appear on the on-screen display when the Subtitle Display parameter is set to Off, regardless of the Subtitle Language (3-38) and Auto Language (3-39) parameter settings.
