This section lists the most common problems you may encounter while using this machine.

Printing a Cleaning Page

If you notice repeating marks or imperfections on your printouts, try printing a cleaning page before you replace the image drum.

Cleaning page process

·Removes residual impurities from printing surfaces.

·Reduces problems such as repeating marks, blotching, and shading.

To print a cleaning page

1Press the Menu/Exit key to activate the menu mode.

2Press ƒcontinuously until Printer Cleaning displays.

3Press Enter. After a moment the cleaning page prints.

Clearing a Document Jam

When a document jam occurs, your machine beeps and an error message appears in the display. If the jammed document appears to be positioned straight in your feeder, press the Stop key to try to feed the document the rest of the way through the feeder. If this fails, follow the instructions below.

1Turn off the power switch.

2Lift the document tray up and back on its hinges.
