Removing the Fan Unit 1. Remove the front cover from the front of the main unit.
2. Remove the screw on the top of the front plate of the fan unit.
3. Securely hold the fan unit with both hands, as shown in Figure 10-17, and
remove it straight out of the slot.

The fan unit can be inserted or removed while the main unit is in ope ratio n.
However, avoid running the main unit for an extended period of time with-
out the fan unit. This may cause malfunction or failure.
A fan unit that is removed when the main unit is in operation will continue
to rotate for a while. Be sure to keep fingers and foreign objects out of the
finger guard.
