Responding to System Events
When the UPS system is running in Normal mode, it continually monitors itself and the incoming utility power. In Battery or Bypass modes, the UPS may issue alarms to let you know exactly what event caused the
change from Normal mode. System events can be indicated by horns, lights on the UPS, or both.
Select Active from the Events menu on the LCD screen to look at the Active System Events screen. This screen shows any currently active alarms, notices, or commands.
System Event Horns
The system event horn beeps according to the type of event it is signifying:
•When the UPS detects an alarm that requires your attention, the horn beeps at
•When a notice occurs, the horn beeps at
•If the battery contactor is open and the Bypass mode is unavailable, the horn beeps every 4 seconds.
System Event Lights
The status indicators on the UPS Monitor Panel work in conjunction with the event horn to let you know when the UPS is operating in any mode other than Normal. Only the Normal indicator is visible during normal UPS operation. The others light to indicate alarms or events. When an alarm occurs, you should first check these indicators to see what type of event has taken place.
