4.12 Calibrate Volume

The sampler delivers accurate sample volumes without cali- bration. If you find that sample volumes vary significantly from the programmed values, first check the suction line for proper installation. Be sure it slopes continuously downhill to the liquid source and drains completely after each sampling cycle. Then, compare the actual length of the suction line to the suction line length settings in the program to see that they match. Also check the pump tube for excessive wear and replace it if necessary.

You may want to calibrate when:

A new pump tube is installed. Run the pump for five minutes before calibrating.

The sample source is above the sampler.

Sampling from pressurized lines (15 PSI Maximum).
