Protocol
Default is SLIP. This field indicates what protocol the NETServer should use to encapsulate packets bound for the remote user.
set location <location name> protocol <ppp slip>
Connections that forward IPX packets must use the PPP protocol. If you enter an IPX network number for the location, the NETServer will set this to PPP for you.
Routing
This field controls RIP messaging between the NETServer and the remote site. Use the following command:
set location <location name> routing <on broadcast listen off>
On | The NETServer sends RIP information to the |
| remote site and accepts RIP information from the |
| remote site. |
Broadcast | The NETServer sends RIP information to the |
| remote site. |
Listen | The NETServer accepts RIP information from the |
| remote site. |
Off | The NETServer does not send RIP information to |
| the remote site and ignores RIP messages from the |
| remote site. |
Compression
This indicates whether Van Jacobson TCP/IP header compres- sion is enabled (on) or disabled (off). If you using SLIP with compression enabled, the other end of the connection must also be using compressed SLIP (CSLIP) or the connection will fail. If you are using PPP with compression enabled, the NETServer will attempt to negotiate for compression, but will still be able to communicate with a remote location that is not using compres- sion. The default is off.
set location <location name> compression <on off>
