Constant Velocity Transport Glass

The Constant Velocity Transport (CVT) glass is the narrow strip of glass located at the left-hand side of the document glass. When documents are fed from the document feeder, they pass over the CVT glass to scan the images into memory automatically. The CVT glass is not used when documents are placed on the document glass.
