Important Considerations
Before you can define static routes, you must define a t least one IP
interface. See “ip interface define (3500/9000 Layer 3)” in Chapter16
for more information .
You can define up to 128 static routes.
Static routes remain in the table until you remove them or the
corresponding interface.
Static routes take precedence over dynamically learned routes to the
same destination.
Static routes are not included in periodic Routing Informa tion Protocol
(RIP) updates sent by the system.
