Important Considerations
Before you can define static routes, you must define a t least one IP
interface. See “ip interface define (3500/9000 Layer 3)” earlier in this
chapter for more in formation.
For the CoreBuilder 3500, you can define up to 256 static routes.
For the other platforms, you can define up t o 64 static routes.
Static routes remain in the table; you must remove them before you
can remove the corresponding interface.
Static routes take precedence over dynamically learned routes to the
same destination
Static routes are included in periodic Routing Informa tion Protocol
(RIP) updates that the system sends.
