Important Considerations
■Before you can define static routes, you must define a t least one IP
interface. See “ip interface define (3500/9000 Layer 3)” earlier in this
chapter for more in formation.
■For the CoreBuilder 3500, you can define up to 256 static routes.
■For the other platforms, you can define up t o 64 static routes.
■Static routes remain in the table; you must remove them before you
can remove the corresponding interface.
■Static routes take precedence over dynamically learned routes to the
same destination
■Static routes are included in periodic Routing Informa tion Protocol
(RIP) updates that the system sends.
