Before you configure your system, become familiar with the physical port
numbering scheme on the system. Understanding t he port numbering
scheme enables you to:
Manage your bridge ports (especially if yo u use trunking), as described
in the Implementation Guide for your system
Accurately define your virtual LANs (VL ANs), as described in the
Implementation Guide for your system
This chapter provides guidelines and oth er key information about how to
configure Ethernet ports in your system.

Menu Structure The commands that you can use depend o n your system, your level of
access, and the modules and other hardware options that are configured
for your system. The following diagram shows the list of commands for
