Introduction This section describes how to set modem options for the AT&T 3715 modem that is certified for alarm forwarding.

Procedure Start at the UNIX prompt.

Use a UNIX editor to open the following file:

 

etc/uucp/Devices

Add (or edit) the following line:

 

ACU term/a01m, - 1200 direct_modem

Write and quit the file.

Enter the following command:

 

cu -1 /dev/ttya01m

Enter the following to connect to the modem:

 

at

 

Result: The modem responds with an OK prompt.

6Enter the following modem option.

AT&F

Result: The modem responds with an OK prompt. This option sets the modem to its default setting. (The required options are set in the Dialers script file.)
