Proxy Agent Connectivity
Proxy Agent ConnectivityIntroduction Proxy Agent connectivity can be divided into the following
categories:
■Emulation and management data
■Alarm stream

Emulation data
is data that is generated from a program
that simulates the function of another hardwa re or software
product.
■
Management data
is data that provides the information
needed to plan, organize, and control operations.
■An
alarm stream
is UNIX system architecture that provides
a flexible communication path for alarms traveling betwe en
the Proxy Agent and device drivers.
Required
connections The connections required for the Proxy Agent to work properly
are:
■From the Proxy Agent PC to the data communications
hardware (modem, data module, or ADU)
■From the data co m m u n i cations hardware to the PBX
