MDF | Main distribution frame. A wiring arrangement that connects the outside |

NMS | Network management system. A comprehensive system of hardware and |
| software used to monitor, control, and manage a communications |
| network. An NMS usually consists of testing devices, CRT displays and |

| of channels. |
