Removing an SFP+ transceiver
For this procedure, please refer to Figure 29.
Complete the following steps to remove an SFP+ transceiver.
1.Remove any cables that are inserted into the transceiver. Use the extraction tool to open the cable latching mechanism.
2.Using the hooked end of the tool, pull the bail (wire handle) away from its pivot point and out, sliding the transceiver out of the switch or blade.
The 16 Gbps SFP+ transceivers have an attached pull tab like the mSFPs. Instead of using the tool, simply grasp the pull tab and pull straight out to remove the 16 Gbps SFP+ from the switch or blade. See the illustration for the mSFP transceiver for the basic appearance of the 16 Gbps transceiver.
