To modify the signal gain and alarm mea n, use the setgainmean command.

Usage Guidelines The signal gain and alarm mean is measured in dB. The system accepts a minimum val ue of 7 dB and a
maximum value of 17.5 dB. If a value entered falls outside of this ac ceptable range, the command will
be ignored and have no effect.
Examples The following example s hows how to modify the s ignal gain and alarm mean.
edfa > setgainmean 17.00

Command Description
gain Displays the measured optical si gnal gain.
gainmean Displays the configured signal gain and alarm mean level.
gaintrig Displays the gain alarm trigger level.

input alarm mean level, optical input alarm trigger level, output signal alarm
mean level, output signal alarm trigger level, inter nal case temperature
alarm mean level, and internal ca se temperature alarm trigger level to the
manufacturers default setting s.
setgaintrig Sets the gain alarm trigger level.
