1.The factory default value for the software configuration register is 0x0102. This value is a combination of binary bit 8 = 0x0100 and binary bits 00 through 03 = 0x0002.

2.OEM = original equipment manufacturer.

Table 4-2specifies the content of the boot field, which defines a source for booting the default Cisco IOS software image required to run the router. The content of the boot field is specified as a binary number.
