When you have completed setting the IP address and subnet mask, disconnect the PC or terminal from the DS-DSGGB-AA or DS-DSGGC-AA switch.

6.5.1.2.4 Logging In to the Switch with a Telnet Connection

Before you telnet to a Fibre Channel switch, you must set the Ethernet IP address and subnet mask.

A serial port connection and a telnet session cannot both be active (at the same time) with the DS-DSGGB-AA and DS-DSGGC-AA switch. The telnet session takes precedence and the serial port session is aborted when the telnet session is started.

You can use a telnet session to log in to the switch at one of three security levels. The default user names, shown from lowest security level to highest security level, are shown in Table 6–1.
