Figure 2-5 shows the factory default options for the standard adapter configuration. The factory default setting, as shown, calls for jumper blocks to be in place on each jumper, thus enabling each option:

Software Compatibility Level

Jumper J1:1-2 selects the software compatibility level of the DCP286i-SBC. In the factory default (jumper connected), an application program is able to detect that the board is a DCP286i and can take advantage of features not available in the original DCP286.
