TV Tuner or WLAN Module

The procedure to remove and replace the TV tuner module and the WLAN module are similar. The image in this section illustrates a TV tuner module. Use the same basic procedure the remove a WLAN module.

1.Prepare the computer for disassembly (Preparation for Disassembly on page 210).

2.Remove the computer access panel (Access Panel on page 211).

3.Remove the optical drive (Removing the Optical Drive on page 220).

4.Remove the hard drive (Hard Drive on page 223).

5.Remove the optical drive rail (Optical Drive Rail on page 227).

6.Remove the heat sink (Heat sink on page 231).

7.Disconnect the antenna cable from the connector on the module (1).

8.Remove the two screws (2) that secure the module to the system board. Figure 9-27Removing the TV tuner module

9.Lift the module to a 45 degree angle, and then remove the module from the connector by pulling it away at an angle.
