Troubleshooting Network Boot Problems

The following sample response shows the default settings for an AN/ANH with one Ethernet interface and two synchronous interfaces:

Boot Options

boot image=local boot config=network

Netboot Parameters:

XCVR1..None

COM1...EZ-Install

COM2...EZ-Install

The following sample response shows the settings for an ARN with one Ethernet interface, one token ring interface, and five synchronous interfaces:

Boot Options

boot image=local boot config=network

Netboot Parameters:

MAU1...None

XCVR2..None

COM1...EZ-Install

COM2...EZ-Install

COM3...EZ-Install

COM4...EZ-Install

COM5...EZ-Install

The possible settings for boot image and boot config are network and local. If the setting is network, the AN/ANH or ARN router requests the kernel file or configuration file from a BootP server when booting. If the setting is local, the router uses the kernel file or configuration file stored in flash memory.

The XCVR parameter shows the current setting of the Ethernet connectors. The COM parameters show the current settings of the synchronous connectors. The MAU parameter shows the setting of the token ring connectors (ARN only).
