EtherTalk Configuration Options

To modify configuration settings specific to the EtherTalk protocol such as the name and zone. For specific information on other EtherTalk options, see Section VII, EtherTalk, or select the HELP button on the bottom right of the screen.

Output Port Configuration Options

To configure the OkiLAN 6120e output port, select the Output Port file tab. The following screen will display:

Port Number

Select the port you wish to configure.

Name Field

Enter a descriptive name to identify the port.

Language Switching

Each output port can be configured to perform the following language switching options: OFF, PCL, PostScript or Automatic. Unless OFF is selected, a language switching character string will be inserted before each print job. The Printer Type selection is used to determine the actual characters required to switch the language of the printer.

OFF - Print data stream will be sent directly to the output port without alteration.

PCL - Inserts the appropriate character string in front of each print job to switch the printer to the PCL print language.
