#Asyou select each assignment, you can see
whetheror not a phone is already registered
there.If the assignment is empty, NO DATA is
displayed.If the assignment is already taken, the
devicename appears. If you want to replace an
assignmentwith a new phone, first delete the
currentassignment. For more detailed instruc-
tions,see Deleting a registered phone on page 38.
#Youcan select one of the registered numbers.
Ifyou want to register a cellular phone that is
rarelyused with this unit, it is possible to register
itas a guest phone.
2 PushMULTI-CONTROL left or right to
selectREGISTER.
Eachtime MULTI-CONTROL is pushed left or
right,the status is selected in the following
order:
Ifnot registered yet.
NODATA (no data)—CONNECT OPEN (con-
nectionopen)—REGISTER (register)
Ifregistered and disconnected.
Devicename—DELETE PHONE (delete phone)
—CONNECTOPEN (connection open)—
CONNECTPHONE (connect)
3 PushMULTI-CONTROL up to search for
availablecellular phones.
SEARCHINGbegins to flash. When available
cellularphones featuring Bluetooth wireless
technologyare found, device names are dis-
played.
#Iftwo or more cellular phones are found, push
MULTI-CONTROLleft or right to select a cellular
phoneyou want to register.
#Ifthis unit fails to find any availablecellular
phones,NOT FOUND is displayed.
4 PushMULTI-CONTROL up to register
thecellular phone in this unit.
REGISTERINGbegins to flash. To complete the
registration,please check the device name
(PIONEERBT UNIT) and enter the link code
(1111)on your cellular phone. If the registra-
tionis completed, REG COMPLETED is dis-
played.
#Ifthe registration failed, REG ERROR is dis-
played.In this case, return to step 1 and try
again.
#Ifyou try registering the cellular phone that
hasbeen already registered to this unit,
SAMEAS PHONE is displayed and the registra-
tioncannot be performed.

!Dependingon the type of cellular phone, re-
gistrationis available only from a cellular

Using a cellular phone to
initiate a registration
Puttingthe unit in CONNECT OPEN mode al-
lowsyou to establish a Bluetooth wireless con-
nectionfrom your phone. You may need to
referto the operation manual that came with
yourphone if you are unsure how to initiate a
registrationfrom your phone.
1 SelectCONNECT OPEN.

2 PushMULTI-CONTROL up to selelct
CONNECTWAIT.
Theunit is now on standby for connection
fromcellular phone.
