Setting the rear output andsubwoofer controller
Thisunits rear output (rear speaker leads out-
putand RCA rear output) can be used for full-
rangespeaker (R-SP :FUL) or subwoofer
(R-SP:S/W) connection. If you switch the rear
outputsetting to R-SP :S/W, you can connect
arear speaker lead directly to a subwoofer
withoutusing an auxiliar y amp.
Initially,the unit is set for rear full-range speak-
erconnection (R-SP :FUL). When rear output is
connectedto full range speakers (when
R-SP:FUL is selected), you can connect other
fullrange speakers (P/O :FUL) or a subwoofer
(P/O:S/W) to the RCA rear output.
1 PressFUNCTION to select R-SP.
PressFUNCTION repeatedly until R-SP ap-
pearsin the display.
2 PushMULTI-CONTROL up or down to
switchthe rear output setting.
PushingMULTI-CONTROL up or down will
switchbetween R-SP :FUL (full-rangespeaker)
andR-SP :S/W (subwoofer)and that status
willbe displayed.
#Whenno subwoofer is connected to the rear
output,select R-SP :FUL.
#Whena subwoofer is connected to the rear
output,set for subwoofer R-SP :S/W.
#Whenthe rear output setting is R-SP :S/W,
youcannot operate the following procedure.
3 PushMULTI-CONTROL left or right to
switchthe subwoofer output orrear out-
put.
PushingMULTI-CONTROL left or right will
switchbetween P/O :S/W andP/O :FUL and
thatstatus will be displayed.
Notes
!Evenif you change this setting, there is no
outputunless you turn the subwoofer output
on(refer to Using subwoofer output on page
60).
!Ifyou change this setting, subwoofer output
inthe audio menu return to the factory
settings.
Switching the telephonemuting/attenuation
Soundfrom this system is muted or attenu-
atedautomatically when the signal from the
equipmentwith mute function is received.
!Thesound is muted or attenuated, MUTE
orAT T aredisplayed and no audio adjust-
mentis possible.
!Soundfrom this system returns to normal
whenthe muting or attenuation is can-
celed.
1 PressFUNCTION to select TEL.
PressFUNCTION repeatedly until TEL appears
inthe display.
2 PushMULTI-CONTROL left or right to
switchthe telephone muting/attenuation.
PushingMULTI-CONTROL left or right will
switchbetween TEL ATT (attenuation) and
TELMUTE (muting) and that status will be dis-
played.
