Replacing the Fuser U n it

The life of the fu ser un it is ap pr oximate ly 5 0 ,0 0 0 bl ack an d
color pa ge s. When the life span o f th e fu ser u ni t h as ex p ire d ,
the printer will stop printing until a new fuser unit is placed into the
printer.
The
SmartPanel program window appears on the computer,
indicating the fuser unit needs to be replaced. Also, if you use
the CLP-600N, the display on the control panel shows the e rror
message, “R eplace Fuser”. At this stage, replace the fuser unit.
NOTE
:
The life span of the fuse r uni t M ay be affe cted b y
operating environment, printing interval, media type, and
media size.
To replace the fuser unit:

Turn the printer off , then wait a few minutes for the printer
to cool.

Using the handle, completely open the access door.
CAUTION
:
Do no t to uc h the g ree n su rfa ce, th e O P C d r um, on the fr o n t
of each toner cartridge with your hands or any other
material. Use the handle on each cartridge in order to avoid
touching this area.
Be careful not to scr atch the sur face of the p ap er transfer
belt.
If you lea ve the access door open for mo r e tha n a fe w
minutes, the OPC drum can be exposed to light. This will
cause damage to the OPC d rum. C lose the access door
should the installation ne ed to be h alt ed fo r any reason.

Using a copper coin or a screwdriver, remove the two
screws on both sides of the fuser unit. Then using the
handle, pull the fuser unit straight out.

Unpack a n e w fuser unit an d insert it into the pr inter.

Tighten the tw o screw s.

After making sure that the access door is open, close the
top cover. Make sure that it is securely latched.

Close the access door firmly.
CAUTION
:
If the top cove r and access do or are not completely
closed, th e p r inter will no t o pe rate.

Reconnect the power cord and cables and th e n turn th e
printer on.
