Network Connection

Signal Strength Is Weak

If you’re standing, move about ten feet in any direction.

If you’re in a building, move near a window. Open any metal blinds.

If you’re in a building, move outdoors or to a more open area.

If you’re outdoors, move away from large buildings, trees, or electrical wires.

If you’re in a vehicle, move your Treo so that it’s level with a window.

Tip

Become familiar with low coverage areas where you live, commute, work, and play, so you know when to expect signal-strength issues.

My Treo Won’t Connect to the Wireless Network

1.Try the preceding suggestions for weak signals.

2.Turn off your phone and turn it on again (see “Turning Your Phone On and Off” on page 35).

3.Perform a soft reset (see “Performing a Soft Reset” on page 349).

My Treo Seems to Turn Off by Itself

If a system error and reset occur, the phone automatically turns on if it was on before the reset. However, if your Treo can’t determine if your phone was on before the reset, it does not automatically turn on the phone (see “Turning Your Phone On and Off” on page 35).
