Quick Guide to VCS Traversal Client - Server Conguration
Full details of how to congure a VCS Cont rol
and VCS Expressway as travers al client and
server respectively are g iven in the following
pages. However, the basic steps are:
Ensure the VCS Control has been
congured with an Authentic ation
username and Authenticati on password to use
as its External Registrat ion Credentials. These
can be added or edited via VCS Con guration >
Authentication > Congurat ion (or by clicking on
the Edit Authentication User name/Password
link in the Edit Zone page for an existing
Traversal Client Zone).
On the VCS Expressway, create a
Traversal Server Zone (this repre sents
the incoming connection fro m the VCS Control).
In the Client authentication us ername eld,
enter the VCS Control’s Authenticat ion
username.
On the VCS Expressway, add the VCS
Control’s authentication usern ame and
password as credentials in the aut hentication
database. These can be added or e dited via
VCS Conguration > Authentic ation > Local
Database, or by clicking on the Add/Edit Local
Authentication Database li nk in the Edit Zone
page.
On the VCS Control, create a Traversal
Client Zone (this represents the
connection to the VCS Expre ssway). Enter the
VCS Expressway’s IP address or FQ DN in the
Primary address eld.
On the VCS Control, congure all the
modes and ports in the Protocol sec tion
to match identically those of the Trave rsal
Server Zone on the VCS Expr essway.
