Chapter 11—Job parameters

Quality tab in the job parameters window

Apply settings to improve the quality of image, graphics, and text elements in your job.

Parameter

Option

Description

Image quality

Provides the following options:

High—Improves the quality of low resolution images in

a job.

Normal—Processes the image in the job according to

the standard resolution of the press.

Image quality is the ability to maintain the same detail and

smoothness at different degrees of enlargement. The

Image quality option is especially useful when your

PostScript file includes several images of differing quality—

for example, images that were scanned at different

resolutions, were rotated, or downloaded from the Internet.

Graphics quality

Provides the following options:

(text, line)

High—Smoothes line art elements and renders

contours to 1200 dpi.

Normal—Processes the text and lines in the job

according to the standard resolution of the press.

Note: For best results, use this option only if your source

file includes diagonal lines or text with jagged edges.

The Graphics quality (Text, Line) option refers to the Creo

anti-aliasing algorithm for text quality. This option causes

blends to appear smooth with no banding, and displays

crisp diagonal lines with few or no jagged (rough) edges,

which can result from the limited resolution of the print

engine.

Improve text/line

Significantly improves the text and line quality in your job. In

in Image

some cases, images in the PDL file contain data that

belong to the text and graphics layer, such as screen

captures and high resolution rasterized text. The CX print

server is able to identify such images and convert them into

text and graphics.

Smooth gradients

Blends vignettes of images.

Gloss Mark

Prints a job with an image or pattern embedded in an

existing image that allows both images to be easily viewed

independently of one another.
