The scan is complete when the photo editing appli cation you selected in step 5 opens on the destina tion computer,
and the scan appears within the application as a new file.

Using the printer software

1Load a photo or photos facedown on the scanner glass.
2Click or Start.
3Click All Programs or Programs, and then select the printer program folder from the list.
4Select Printer Home.
5Choose your printer from the printer drop-down list .
6Click Photo.
If you want to scan a single photo, or multiple photos as a single image, then select Single phot o.

Note: Allow at lea st 1/4 inch of space b etween photos if you w ant to s can mul tiple p hotos at once and sav e
them as separate images.

7Save the photo or photos and open in a photo editing application to edit.
Scanning documents into an editing application
An Optical Character Recognition (OCR) application allows you to edit an original text document that has been
scanned. In order for this to w ork, you must have an OCR applic ation stored on a local or netw ork computer and you
must be able to choose it from the list of applications when you set up the scan.
When selecting settings for the scan:
Select to scan to the local computer or network computer where the OCR is installed.
Select to scan to the highest resolution.
1Load an original document faceup into the ADF or fac edown on the scanner glass .
2Click or Start.
3Click All Programs or Programs, and then select the printer program folder from the list.
4Select Printer Home.
5Choose your printer from the printer drop-down list .
6Click Document.
Scanning starts and the sc an progress dialog appears.
7When the scan is finished, save the document in a word -processing application.
8Open the document in the selected app lication to edit it.
