SMTP Configuration Fields
SMTP Server User ID alphanumeric Identifier used by FaxFinder when interfacing with mail
server. FaxFinder uses mail server to send call reports
to administrator. Some email servers require
authentication when accessed for this purpose. To
satisfy this authentication requirement (where needed), a
User ID must be specified for the FaxFinder unit. Leave
this field blank if authentication is not needed.
SMTP Password alphanumeric Password used by FaxFinder unit when accessing mail
server. Leave this field blank if authentication is not
needed.
Retype SMTP Password alphanumeric Reiteration of above password.
Backup SMTP Server n.n.n.n The Backup SMTP Server can be set up to send
received faxes to users, if the primary email server is
interrupted. The Active Email Server drop down shows
the email server which will be used to send email. If an
email attempt fails, the FaxFinder re-queues the
message and automatically switches to the server that is
not currently active. This provides a way to ensure
received faxes are sent when the primary email service
is interrupted.
Backup User ID alphanumeric Log in ID for the backup server.
Backup SMTP Port 0 – 65535 (default: 24) IP port on which the backup SMTP server is listening.
Backup SMTP Password alphanumeric Password for access to the backup server.
Retype Backup Password alphanumeric Reiteration of above password.
Email Size Limit 100 - 192000
in kilobytes
This is the maximum size limit that the FaxFinder will
accept for incoming fax messages.Set this to match any
limits that your email server may have on attachments.
Email Admin on Failed
Fax
Y/N Sends an email to Admin address for each failed fax.
Send Fax Email Receipt Y/N When selected, email confirmation notice is sent
attesting that the fax message sent by the FaxFinder
client user has been transmitted with no errors to the
remote fax machine.
Include Fax Details Y/N Determines whether, for received faxes, the technical
characteristics of that particular fax are included in the
email message. (These details are those listed in the Fax
Details screen that is accessible as a secondary screen
from the Fax Log screen).
Fax Output Format PDF (default)
or TIF
Determines whether the fax message becomes a PDF
attachment or TIF attachment. TIF attachments can be
forwarded or added to a list of multiple documents to be
faxed whereas PDF attachments cannot.
Update (button) Click on this button to have changes to SMTP Configuration take effect.
