Table 5. Ethernet Configuration Options Ethernet Address
Description
Network Address Selects the method used to set the Internet Protocol
(IP) address of the library, as follows:
Static – The library uses a fixed IP Address,
which is assigned in the IP Address field,
described below.
DHCP – The library uses an IP address
assigned by the network DHCP (Dynamic
Host Configuration Protocol) server.
For ease of use, Plasmon recommends using a Static
IP address.
IP Address Sets the IP address of the library, which acts as a
Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP)
device in the network.
Subnet Mask Sets the subnet (subnetwork) mask, a set of numbers
that allows routing of communication to designated
devices within the network.
Note: This option is only displayed if the network
address is set to Static.
Gateway Address Sets the default TCP/IP (Transmission Control Proto-
col/Internet Protocol) gateway address, which allows
routing of communication outside the subnet.
Note: This option is only displayed if the network
address is set to Static.
