5.13.2.9 UPC E

Enable UPC-E

Set this parameter to on to allow “UPC E” bar code scans.

Enable UPC-E1

Set this parameter to on to allow “UPC-E1” (zero suppressed) bar code scans.

UPC-E And UPC-E1 Check Digit

If you enable one or both of these parameters, a check digit is included with the decoded bar code data.

UPC-E And UPC-E1 Preamble

When you double-tap on one of these parameters, a dialog box is displayed where you can choose one of three options for lead-in characters for UPC-E and UPC-E1 symbols transmit- ted to the host device:

System Char – system character transmitted with the data,

Country code and System Char – both the country code (“0” for USA) and system character are transmitted with the data, or

None – no preamble is transmitted. The lead-in characters are considered part of the symbol.

Conv. UPC-E To UPC-A

This parameter converts UPC-E (zero suppressed) decoded data to UPC-A format before transmission. After conversion, data follows UPC-A format and is affected by UPC-A pro- gramming selections (e.g., Preamble, Check Digit).

Conv. UPC-E1 To UPC-A

This parameter converts UPC-E1 (zero suppressed) decoded data to UPC-A format before transmission. After conversion, data follows UPC-A format and is affected by UPC-A pro- gramming selections (e.g., Preamble, Check Digit).
