Remote Authorization
The Remote Authorization feature lets you activate your personal identification number (PIN) at a tele- phone that you are temporarily using, to temporarily raise its class of service to your telephone’s class of service. This lets you access features you normally use, but which are not allowed from the remote tele- phone.
Remote Authorization remains in effect after you hang up for a period of time specified at the CBX. After you make another call and hang up, the timer for Remote Authorization is reset and begins counting down again. You do not need to enter your PIN again unless your authorization runs out. (On a display tele- phone, IDENTIFICATION DELETED is displayed whenever this occurs.) To return the remote tele- phone’s class of service to its original settings before your authorization runs out, you can deactivate your PIN manually.
