LOCATING THE PRINTER

Beforeyoustart unpackingandsettingupyour printer,makesurethat you
haveasuitableplaceon whichtolocateit. By“a suitabIeplace”,wemean:

Afirm,level surfacewhichis fairlyvibration-free
Awayfrom excessiveheat(suchas directsunlight,heaters,etc)
Awayfrom excessivehumidity
Awayfrom excessivedust
Supplyitwith “clean”electricity,Donot connectittothe samecircuitas
alarge,noise-producingappliancesuchasarefrigerator.
Make sure the line voltageis the voltage specified on the printer’s
identificationplate.
To disconnecttheprinterthe plughas tobe disconnectedfromthe wall
socket,whichhas tobe locatedcloseto the printer,and easyto access.
Installthe printer wherethereis sufficientroom for thepaper and any
paperbeingfed in orprinted out.
Ifyou areconnectingyourprinterwithaparallelcable,makesurethatthe
cableis within2m (6ft) ofthe printer.An RS-232connectionusingthe
optionalSPC-8Kinterfacecanbe madeover longerdistances.
