Switch A-2: Does your softwaredownloadcharactersto the printer?
In orderto downloadcharactersthisswitchmustbe in the OFFposition.The printer then uses its RAM memory for storing character patterns and providesonlya one-lineprintbuffer.If youleavethisswitchON,theprinter usesitsRAMmemoryasaninputbuffer,allowingthecomputerto senddata faster than the printerprints.
Switch A-3: Do you want an automaticline feed?
If you leave this switch in the ON position,a separate line-feed code is requiredfrom your computerto obtaina line feed.
If you move this switch to the OFF position,the printer performsboth a carnage return and line feed each time it receivesa carriage-returncode.
Mostcomputersystemssend a line feed code,or both a carriagereturn and line feed, at the end of each line, so this switchshouldbe left ON.
If you get doubleline spacingwhen you expectsingle spacing,or if lines overprinteach other, try changingthe settingof this switch.
Switch A-4: Are you goingto use the automaticsheet feeder (ASF)?
In orderto usethe automaticsheetfeederSF-1ODN,movethis switchto the OFF position.Otherwiseleave it ON.
Switch B-1: Are you goingto print on multi-partpaper?
You can use up to 3-plypaper whenthis switchis ON. If you wantto print orI4-ply paper, set this switchto the OFFposition.
Switch B-2: Doyouwantthe printerto stopprintingattheendof thepaper, or to keep printing?
Whenthisswitchis OFFtheprinterignoresthepaper-outdetectorandprints down to (and beyond)the bottomedge. Otherwiseleave it ON.
Switch B-3: Do you want to advancepaper automaticallyat the end of printing?
You can selectthe Tear Off functionwith this switchOFF.
Whenusingfanfoldpaper,the Tear Off functionallowsyouto tear off one sheetof paper withoutfully advancingthe followingsheet.
Switch B-4: This switch is used for technicalpurpose only. Leave this switchON.
