SEITING UP

Place the printer in the desiredlocation,and remove all packingmaterial from inside the top cover. This packing material is intendedto prevent darnageto theprinterwhilein transit.Youwillwantto keep allthepacking material,alongwiththe printercarton,in caseyouhaveto movethe printer to a new location.

Mountingtheplaten knob

The platenknobis packedinto a recessof the whitefoampackingmaterial whichheld yourprinterinsidethe carton.Be sureto removethe knobfrom the packaging.

Mountthe knob on the platenshaft,whichis on the right-handside of the printer. Rotate the knob on the shaft before pushingthe knob fully into position.

Install the ribboncartridgeand the roller unit

Removethe top coverby liftingup the front (usingthe two gripson either side),and pullingthe covertowardsyou (see Figure 1-4).Now installthe ribbon.(Ifyouwantto printwithblackonly,installthemonochromeribbon cartridge,2X9.)
