Installing the WorkCentre Pro 580

Choosing a Location

To help guarantee trouble-free operation of your machine, place it on a flat, stable surface near your workstation. Leave enough space to allow for easy paper loading, paper unloading, and opening of the front cover.

Do not place your machine:

•In direct sunlight.

•Near heat sources or air conditioners.

•In a dusty or dirty environment.

Preparing Your Machine for Use

When you take your machine out the box, note that it has been packaged to protect it during shipping. Before you use the machine, check for the following items:

•Remove all tape shown and the tape securing the paper exit tray on the bottom of the WorkCentre Pro 580.

•Open the front cover and remove the automatic document feeder protection sheet.

•Remove all packaging materials.
