4Plug the RCA connectors on the audio cable into the left and right Audio In sockets on the VCR.

5Plug the stereo miniplug on the audio cable (or adapter) into the sound output port on the Macintosh.

For more information about the sound output port and the stereo miniplug, see Chapter 7.

6Connect the VCR’s Video Out port to the television’s Video In port.

Use an RCA or S-video cable to connect the VCR to the television. Do not use coaxial cable.

To ensure that your presentation is recorded on videotape and shown on the television, you must connect the VCR to the computer and the television to the VCR.

7Connect the microphone to the sound input port (X) on the Macintosh.

The illustration below shows the equipment configuration and the connections needed to record the computer’s video output and to add voice annotation to the video.
