1Use the mouse to choose the Shut Down command from the Special menu.
Choosing Shut Down readies the hard disk for a fast restart next time you turn on the computer. It also prompts you to save any unsaved work on a disk before turning the power off.
To turn on the computer again, just press the Power On key on the keyboard.
WARNING Do not turn the computer off by pressing the power switch on the back panel. If you do so, you will lose any work you haven’t previously saved onto a disk. You also risk losing open documents.
IMPORTANT Be sure to shut down the computer if you need to do any of the following:
mMove the computer
mAttach other equipment to the computer
mUnplug the computer
mLeave the computer for an extended period of time
