Connecting a printer

Your Macintosh has a printer port, which you use to connect a printer to your computer.

The printer port accepts either a direct cable connection (to printers such as the StyleWriter II) or a network cable connection (to printers such as a LaserWriter Pro or LaserWriter Select).

Follow the instructions that came with your printer when connecting it to your Macintosh.

A printer can also be connected to the modem port. You use the Chooser program to indicate the port you used to connect your printer. (See the Macintosh Reference for more information on using the Chooser.)
